"Ladies, it doesn't get better than this."

This morning I was walking with two other girls in my walking group. We were laughing and talking and sharing stories as we pushed our strollers. I looked up to see a middle-age man on a huge motorcycle with a red bandanna on his head. His gruff appearance made me a little nervous. He was watching us get closer. When we got into earshot he said, "Ladies, it doesn't get better than this."

He really got me thinking- it really doesn't get better. Life is so good! Being a mom is the best job in the whole world. Every time I meet someone who is pregnant for the first time I get so excited for them. They have no idea the joy and excitement that is about to enter their lives. Sure there are plenty of hard and inconvenient things, but the good times way outweigh the rough times. Does anybody else get excited to see their baby after a long nap? How about wanting to go in their room in the middle of the night just to stare at her? And do you ever just hug your baby as she's trying to wiggle away but you just don't let go? There are very few feelings that can match having Lydia lay her head on my shoulder and just let me love her.
