She looks so innocent (right!). Lydia...Sweet Lydia. I love her like crazy, but she's starting to do two things that really make me cringe.
1) She now has six little teeth. They are wonderful and useful and I'm so happy for her, but does she have to grind them while were reading books and cuddling? It totally ruins the experience. That sound, as little as it is, really makes my skin crawl. How do you get your kid to stop grinding teeth? Do they make baby mouth guards (oh, yeah, I guess they're called pacifiers:). I just can't stand it.
2) The second thing she's just started doing is saying "no." Oh, it was so cute at first. We laughed and laughed because she says it so sweetly. But now her sweet little "no" has turned into a little growl. She sounds like a little monster. She walks around the house pulling out the plastic plugs of the outlets saying, "no...no...no" Then she throws her sippy cup, silverware, and FOOD off of her tray and says "no" with each item. They say those sippy cups are spill proof- but they've never met my little monster. She gets into my drawer of paper and alternates hands throwing sheets of paper over her shoulders as fast as she possibly can. She tells herself "no...no."
It's not all bad- I guess the first step in resolving things is realizing there's a problem. She knows she's doing something wrong. I must have jinxed myself when I said, "My kid won't tell me 'no,' I'll show them who's in charge."

she's too cute. haha. sorry about the no problem. :)
I totally know what you mean about sippy cups not being spill proof. None of the kinds that I have tried can withstand Alex throwing them to the ground. I was just watching the little video with Alex in my lap and he loved watching Lydie. At the end when she said ah-oh he looked at me and said ah-oh. It was funny. We sure miss you guys & wish we lived closer!
haha. it is hard for me to imagine two people like you and josh producing a little monster child. :) she does look innocent indeed. but it sounds look she's going to keep you on your toes.
kadin grinds his teeth too. i think i asked my doctor about it once and he told me there's not really anything you can do about it. i think he said it happens when they are teething and their mouth hurts. usually it goes away after they finish teething. in fact, come to think of it, i don't think i've noticed kadin grinding in the last few months since he's finished getting all his teeth.
oh good times. Lately I've been wondering what happened to my sweet little baby. She does stuff now just to see what I will do. It's irritating. Hang in there...(I'm telling this to myself too)
I was in PC for a week...home now. I would have LOVED to see you. I was telling my dad all these stories about when we were companions! I always had fun with you!
She is so cute, where did you get the pictures done at? I love them! call me um... why don't we get together during games?
Boston and I just watched Lydie's movie!! He just pointed at her and said "You!"
I hate this throwing stage!!!
We do need to get together! I need Lydie to teach Boston where his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose are!
Oh, adorable children and the words they make us eat. It's so nice to I'm not alone. I saw your pics on Tiff's blog. You all look like models.
My favorite is when Aliyah started telling me "no" as in "mom stop doing that." Like when I'm making dinner and she wants me to hold her and I tell her I'm making dinner and she says "No Mom!"
TOOTH GRINDING!!! tell me if you find a solution, Brady is 3 and he does it in his sleep...its terriable!! And when we brought Zach home from the hospital Brady did it constantly for a few days...anxiety I guess! Lydie is so beautiful! LOVE the tu-tu! (I have no girls, and so no idea how to spell tutu!)
melinda
The good news: lydia is normal.
Just wait 'til she picks up the word "mine" from her friends or cousins. that one's not fun either. she's such a cute monster.
