The Siren

We went to the duck pond at BYU this week. As we walked up the ducks tried to ambush us to get bread. It was pretty traumatic for Lydia.
It took about 1.5 seconds for her to turn on "the siren." I'm sure she was heard at the Marriott center, all the way across campus. All of the students and other people at the pond were looking at us. The fellow parents were smiling sympathetically while the non-parents were looking at me as if they might call protective services.
We got calmed down enough to take some pictures, although she never took her eyes off those sneaky webbed footed attackers. When I got home and uploaded the pictures I browsed through my picture library. I realized how liberal Lydia is with turning on her siren. I must just be a really mean mom for taking pictures of her when she is crying. I hope this is not an indication of how her teenage years will be.

We apologize to any of you who may have suffered hearing loss because we failed to provide earplugs while you were around our child. We’re going to have to start having people sign waivers...

Some of the funniest pictues are when the kids are in a predicament or crying. Lydia is such a doll. Hope you guys are doing well.

Those pictures with your new camera are incredible! I absolutely love them! And Lydia looks so adorable, even the one where she is unleashing the siren. Look at it this way, at least you will never ever have to wonder whether or not she is unhappy! You don't have to worry about her being the "suffer in silence" kind of girl!
