I had a night out with friends and we made these darling wreaths. It had been one of those tiring days as a mommy where somebody needs something all day long. I LOVE being a mom and I thank Heavenly Father every day that I get to stay home with my kids, but I sometimes need a break. I peeked in on them when I got home that evening and they were both sleeping like angels. My heart melted. I was amazed at how just a couple hours away made my heart grow fonder-and I was excited for morning when I would get to start another day with them.
They have been doing so many cute things lately.
Will has rolled over twice! I think he's a little slow at getting around to it, but he has rarely has "tummy time." He much prefers his bumbo, exersaucer, or johnny jump up. I've been trying to do better and he seems to be tolerating being on his tummy a little more.
Will has also started eating rice cereal. He LOVES it. He is still mastering keeping it in his mouth, but he seems to really enjoy eating it. He gets REALLY messy when he eats.
His hair just does this. Every time he naps it just sticks back up, no matter what I do to it. He’s like Albert Einstein or something-he’s going to be smart.
Lydia is sleeping in her big girl bed. She is really taking advantage of the freedom it provides. She wakes up in the morning with more toys IN the bed than out. I wish so bad that I had one of those video baby monitors. Josh and I could just pop a bowl of popcorn and watch her play until she finally collapses. What could be more entertaining?
We did a week of potty training but I think she has stage fright and she can't actually make it happen while she is sitting on the potty. Back to diapers-yuck! We'll try again in a month or so. In the process she has developed a strong aversion to pants (at least while we’re home). Choose your battles, right?
According to Lydia, her hands are spiders. We give spiders baths before each meal. The spiders help her eat by putting the food in her mouth. And raspberries and olives make great spider shoes.
We had the blessing of going to the temple in DC yesterday. Our wonderful friends, the Hutchisons went with us and watched the kids while Josh and I went in. We had a wonderful time. On Friday I was prepping Lydia for the trip.
Me: Lydia, we are going to go to the temple tomorrow.
Lydia: (gasps and beams) Am I going to get married?
My heart melted again. I love that she is so excited to get married in the temple.
Later on:
Me: When you get married in the temple you have to marry someone. Who are you going to marry?
Lydia: I want to get married with you and Daddy.
I love her innocence.
On our way home from the temple we drove through DC and did a car tour of everything. We are REALLY enjoying our GPS that we got for Christmas. I am the worst navigator, so it takes a ton of pressure off of me. Of course I was too scatterbrained while we were at the temple to take a picture, but I got some shots in DC.
I didn't intend this to be a marathon post:). Thanks for sticking with it to the end!

Crazy! We were at the DC temple yesterday too. Too bad we didn't run into you guys. It's a small world! I hope you guys are enjoying the east coast. We've loved it out here, but we're excited to go back west in a couple of months when TJ graduates.
Those kids are totally heart-able! Love the pics.

Cute wreath Em! The funny thing is, they did them on Studio 5 last week and I've been contemplating doing one! Now that I've seen how awesome it turned out...I really should! The pics are awesome...I love the DC ones, but my favorites are the ones of the kids for sure!
